*** STOP PRESS *** Latest Events at Dragon Helicopters *** STOP PRESS ***

The eventual closure of Sheffield City Airport in April 2008 has seen Dragon’s departure from the base that was instrumental in the Company’s inception in 2000. As the longest-standing General Aviation operator at Sheffield, we have witnessed many changes over the last seven-and-a-half years, many of which had made operations from Sheffield increasingly difficult. We see the present time as an opportunity to improve our product offerings and services to our customers. Watch this space as we announce Dragon’s plans for the future...

Early 2008 was a quiet period operationally for the Company as we assessed the impact of relocating our base and ensured measures were in place to provide uninterrupted continuity of service. The Summer is looking busy with pleasure flying events lined up for June and July. Post-event news will be reported here, hopefully with some great photos to accompany the stories!

Here is some of our news from 2007:

Dragon Helicopters returned to the Isle of Man in May and June for the first time in four years, after we were invited to provide the pleasure flights during the TT Races. A good time was had by all during a busy couple of weeks.

Another of our expeditions round the planet took staff to Queensland in Australia, where we enjoyed the novel experience of flying in permanently superb weather and the beautiful scenery of the Sunshine Coast and Glasshouse Mountains. Many thanks to everyone at Becker Helicopters, especially Ric, for making everything happen; also to Chopperline, and Irene and Ken O’Doherty for their first-rate hospitality.
