The Famous Original Dam Busters Helicopter Pleasure Flight
In March 1943, the Lancaster crews of 617 Squadron began training for a top secret mission. Based at Scampton in Lincolnshire, some of the Squadron’s training was conducted along the Derwent Valley in the Derbyshire countryside West of Sheffield.
Dragon Helicopters’ famous ‘Dam Busters’ pleasure flights offer the opportunity to fly along 617 Squadron’s training route down the Derwent Valley and over the twin dams. This is our most popular flight and provides fabulous views of the beautiful Peak District countryside. Duration is approximately half-an-hour.
We issue a flight boarding card which can be given as a gift on the day of a celebration: when buying online, the flight date is left open for the recipient to book later. Please call the office on 0845 500 5425 if you would like to book a specific date at the time of purchase.
Flights are flown in our Bell 206 Long Ranger which accommodates six passengers and take place mainly on Sundays with some Saturdays. Please see the ‘Dam Busters’ page for dates scheduled at the moment.
Discounts are available for groups of four or more passengers:
• price for four passengers: £550.00 including VAT (£137.50 per person);
• price for five passengers: £660.00 including VAT (£132.00 per person);
• price for six passengers: £759.90 including VAT (£126.65 per person).
